Protective rights of displaced and refuged children
Millions of children worldwide are forced to leave their homes due to conflict, poverty, or climate change. Displaced children often face danger, detention, deprivation, discrimination, violence, exploitation, family separation, and lack of access to healthcare, education, and protection. UNICEF emphasizes that “a child is a child” regardless of whether they are refugees, migrants, or an asylum seeker and calls for immediate action to protect their rights. This includes protecting children from harm, preventing family separation, ensuring equal access to services, addressing root causes of displacement, and combating discrimination.
